SUTTON COLDFIELD SOCIETY OF ARTISTS  
Our local art society which anyone with an interest in art can join. There are monthly meetings consisting of demonstrations and painting days;  twice yearly exhibitions, gallery trips, sketching days out.

SUTTON COLDFIELD CREATIVE STITCHERS 
Sutton Coldfield’s stitched textile and embroidery group.  This group is for anyone interested in machine embroidery, cross stitch, gold work, crochet, knitting etc.  There are speakers, workshops, exhibitions.

MIDLANDS POTTERS ASSOCIATION  
Membership is open to everyone interested in ceramics whether you are a professional, student, complete beginner, hobbyist, workshop group, collector, gallery or supplier.

BIRMINGHAM ART CIRCLE
This is a group of professional artists with a long association with the RBSA.  Monthly meetings are held at the RBSA Gallery with regular exhibitions.  Membership is by sponsorship and submission.

SHAPESHIFTERS SCULPTURE GROUP 
This is a group of practising sculptors with bases in Dudley College and at Winterbourne Garden in Birmingham.  Most of the work is in stone although other materials such as wood, clay and metal is also used.

ROYAL BIRMINGHAM SOCIETY OF ARTISTS 
The RBSA is a long established society with its own gallery, located just off St Paul’s Square, Birmingham with regular exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations.  There is a Friends section with monthly activities including expert appraisals of work.

Local Classes

Stonehouse Studios is a new pottery, sculpture, drawing and painting workshop at Drayton Bassett and ideally positioned for access from Birmingham, Lichfield, Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield. The studio is run by artist practitioner and tutor Karen Bird, with over 30 years experience of teaching all ages and abilities. Students will benefit from Karen’s uniquely skilled artistic interpretation and observation, with personalised instruction tailored to their individual needs and abilities.

Pat and Bob Pagett run watercolour classes on Tuesdays from 2 – 4 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.- 12 noon at St James Church Hall, Mere Green and also a U3A class on Fridays from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the United Reformed Church in Sutton Coldfield.

Petra Röhr-Rouendaal runs a life drawing group once a week on Wednesdays from 7-10pm at Petra’s studio. At present there are no spaces available, but if you are interested in joining please contact Petra and she will put you on the waiting list.
